Komfo Anokye Universitary Hospital ( KATH ) in Kumasi, Ghana, is the second largest hospital in Ghana and the only tertiary health institution in the Ashanti Region. It is the main reference hospital for Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and Northern, Northeast and Northwest regions.

The Cardiothoracic Centre of Korle -Bu is located in the capital of Republic of Ghana, Accra, and is set as the reference hospital specializing in cardiology, not only within the country but in the West African sub region. The center is located in the district of Korle- Bu and also serves as a university teaching hospital for the Faculty of Medicine of the State University under the same name.

• The project included medical supplies for the surgery, cardiology, diagnostic, lab and anesthesia units. Equipment for the auxiliary facilities for laundry, ironing, waste treatment are included as well as and hospital furniture (beds, tables instrumental, wheelchairs, scales) parts and a special ambulance with cardiothoracic equipment are also included.
• The project was completed with a series of maternal and child specialty equipment to be supplied and installed in the national hospital network.

Fomento acted as designated subcontractor for the project, developing jointly with the leading provider the design of the scope supply, installation and commissioning, technical warranty, training and maintenance. 

Health is one of the main aspects of development of an economy. These two referral hospitals in the country have been equipped with front-line equipment and their staff (medical, maintenance and administrative) has trained with modern techniques.
